Nacho beef burrito- step by step instruction guide!

Step 1
Heat the oil in a large frying pan over a medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the beef mince to the pan and fry for 3–4 minutes, using the back of a wooden spoon to break it up into small, even pieces as it cooks. Stir regularly to ensure the mince browns evenly and doesn’t clump together. Continue cooking until the mince has browned all over, with no large lumps remaining. This will help create a rich, savoury base for your nacho beef burrito and ensure the beef is ready to absorb all the delicious flavours from the seasonings and other ingredients you’ll be adding next.

Step 2
Add the fajita seasoning to the browned mince, along with the chopped red pepper and 2 tablespoons of water. Stir everything together thoroughly, making sure the seasoning coats the mince evenly and the pepper is well combined with the beef. Continue frying for a few minutes, stirring occasionally, until the red pepper begins to soften slightly while still retaining a little bite. The water will help the seasoning spread throughout the mixture, adding plenty of flavour and keeping the beef moist. Once the pepper has softened and everything is well combined, turn off the heat and set the pan aside while you prepare the remaining burrito ingredients.

Step 3
In a medium-sized bowl, combine the chopped onion, tomato, avocado, fresh coriander and shredded lettuce. Gently mix everything together until the ingredients are evenly distributed, being careful not to mash the avocado too much so it keeps its texture. Squeeze over the fresh lime juice and add a pinch of salt to season, then give everything another gentle toss to bring all the fresh flavours together. The lime juice adds a lovely zesty freshness that balances the rich, savoury beef, while the avocado provides a creamy texture and the lettuce adds a refreshing crunch. Once everything is well combined, set the bowl aside while you prepare the rest of the burrito. This fresh vegetable mixture will add colour, flavour and texture to your nacho beef burrito, helping to balance out the warm, seasoned mince and creating a delicious combination in every bite.

Step 4
Each tortilla wrap should have one tablespoon of soured cream spread over it, followed by cheese, a couple spoonfuls of the lettuce mixture, then the meat mixture. Top each wrap with a handful of crumbled tortilla chips, fold in the corners, and roll each wrap firmly into a burrito, being careful to tuck everything inside.

Step 5
Heat a clean, dry frying pan over a medium heat, making sure there is no oil in the pan. Once hot, carefully place each assembled burrito into the pan and toast for a couple of minutes on each side, turning it gently with a spatula or tongs to ensure it cooks evenly. Continue toasting until the tortilla is crisp, golden brown and slightly crunchy on the outside, with the filling warmed through. Pay attention as the tortillas toast, as they can brown quickly if the pan gets too hot. This final step helps seal the burrito, giving it a deliciously crispy exterior while keeping the beef and fresh fillings tucked neatly inside. Once all the burritos are toasted to perfection, transfer them to a plate and serve immediately while they're still warm and crunchy. Finish with plenty of your favourite hot sauce for an extra kick of heat that complements the seasoned beef and fresh, zesty vegetables. Slice in half if you like, revealing the colourful filling and crunchy nacho centre, and enjoy your quick, flavour-packed burrito straight away!
