Brioche french toast- step by step instruction guide!
Step 1
Preheat your air fryer to 175°C, allowing it to reach the correct temperature before adding your bread. This helps ensurethe cinnamon butter toast cooks evenly, creating a beautifully golden, crispy exterior while keeping the centre soft andbuttery. Preheating for a few minutes also helps the cinnamon sugar melt and caramelise, giving your toast thatdeliciously sweet finish.
Step 2
In a small mixing bowl, add the softened butter, sugar, ground cinnamon and vanilla extract. Using a spoon or smallspatula, stir everything together thoroughly until the ingredients are well combined and you have a smooth, creamymixture. Make sure the cinnamon and sugar are evenly distributed throughout the butter so that every bite of your toast ispacked with sweet, warming flavour. The vanilla adds a lovely hint of sweetness, while the cinnamon gives the mixture itsdeliciously cosy aroma. Once everything is mixed together, your cinnamon butter is ready to spread generously over thebread!
Step 3
Take your slices of brioche bread and spread a generous, even layer of the cinnamon butter mixture over one side of eachslice. Use the back of a spoon or a butter knife to gently spread the mixture across the surface, making sure you reachright up to the edges so that every bite is full of delicious cinnamon-sugar flavour. Try to cover the bread as evenly aspossible, paying particular attention to the corners, as these will become beautifully golden and caramelised as they cookin the air fryer. The buttery mixture will soak slightly into the soft brioche, helping to create a wonderfully rich flavourwith a sweet, crispy finish. Once all your slices are evenly coated, they're ready to be placed in the air fryer!
Step 4
Carefully place the buttered brioche slices into the preheated air fryer basket, making sure they sit in a single layerwithout overlapping. Cook at 175°C for approximately 5 minutes, or until the bread is golden, the edges are deliciouslycrispy, and the cinnamon butter has melted into a sweet, fragrant coating. Keep an eye on the toast as it cooks, as airfryers can vary slightly in how quickly they brown the bread. You want the brioche to develop a lovely crisp exteriorwhile remaining soft and tender in the middle.
Step 5
When there is around 1 minute of cooking time remaining, carefully open the air fryer and sprinkle the nuts onto the airfryer tray alongside the toast. Allow them to toast for the final minute, keeping a close eye on them to ensure they becomelightly golden and fragrant without burning. This quick toasting step helps bring out their natural nutty flavour and adds awonderful crunch to complement the soft brioche and sweet cinnamon butter. Once everything is ready, carefully removethe toast and toasted nuts from the air fryer, ready to serve while the brioche is still warm and delicious!
Step 6
Meanwhile, whisk the cream in a small bowl until soft peaks form. You want it to be light, fluffy and smooth, ready toserve alongside your warm cinnamon butter toast. Be careful not to overwhip it, as a soft, creamy texture works best withthe crispy brioche. Carefully remove the cinnamon toasts from the air fryer and arrange them on a serving platter or individual plates. Theyshould be beautifully golden and fragrant, with a deliciously sweet, buttery coating.
Step 7
Finally, roughly chop the toasted nuts on a chopping board, leaving a mixture of small pieces and larger chunks for extracrunch. These will add a lovely nutty flavour and texture to complement the sweet cinnamon toast and creamy whippedcream. Top the toasts with dollops of whipped cream and sprinkle them with a little syrup. Add a final dusting of cinnamon and scatter over the roasted nuts.
